Delocator lets you enter your zip code and ‘unfind’ Starbucks: it lists the independently owned cafes in your area.
From the ‘about’ section of the UK delocator:
There are 449 Starbucks stores in England… less than ten years ago, there weren’t any Starbucks in the UK at all… The aim of this website is to promote the UK’s many independent cafés, in the hope that the UK will keep its diverse cafe culture rather than becoming yet another endless, dull franchise.
I’ll admit that I’m a fan of Starbucks but that’s partly because of the difficulty of finding a coffee place with decent coffee, a good atmospher and that doesn’t mind you staying to work long periods of time. I’ll be sure to check out the delocator listings for my area.
